June 21, 1985: Rangers (32-34) at Twins (28-37)

37,622 fans watched an exciting game at METRODOME. The Texas Rangers topped the Minnesota Twins by the slimmest of margins, 6 to 5. 

The game was deadlocked at 4 after nine full innings. Texas won it in the 12th inning. Gary Ward ripped a single. Ward stole second with some aggressive base running. Wayne Tolleson was next to bat, but he was a strikeout victim. Toby Harrah followed and he lined a single. Curtis Wilkerson stepped into the box and lined a one-base hit. Wilkerson took second on the throw. Texas lit up the scoreboard in the 9th inning when they had 3 runs on 4 hits. The game was a wild affair with the lead changing hands 5 times. 

The victory went to Dave Stewart(4-2) who went 3 innings, allowing 1 run. Rick Lysander(0-2) was the loser in relief. He surrendered 2 runs and 6 hits in 2 and 2/3 innings.
