June 23, 1985: Mariners (34-34) at Royals (42-26)

Frank White blasted a homerun and had 3 RBI as the Kansas City Royals beat the Seattle Mariners by a score of 7 to 3. 

Kansas City went ahead for good in the bottom of the 2nd inning plating 2 runs using 3 hits. After an out was recorded, Greg Pryor began the Kansas City spurt when he doubled. Willie Wilson stepped up next and he tripled. Lonnie Smith then lined a single. Dick Howser then called for a steal which was successful. George Brett was next to the plate, but was promptly struck out. That early scoring was all that Bret Saberhagen(10-3) needed. Kansas City had 16 hits overall, while Seattle had 8. 

Matt Young(9-5) was charged with the loss. He pitched 6 innings and surrendered 14 hits and 1 walk.
