Robin Yount had 2 base hits as the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Baltimore Orioles by the score of 7 to 4 at COUNTY STADIUM. 

Baltimore was unable to claim the lead after Milwaukee went ahead in the bottom of the 2nd inning as they scored 2 runs on 2 base hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Jim Gantner who brought a roar from the partisan COUNTY STADIUM fans when he doubled scoring two baserunners. Both teams totaled 8 hits on the afternoon. 

The winning pitcher was Ray Burris(6-6) who allowed 4 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings. Mike Boddicker(0-7) took the loss. He gave up 7 runs in 5 and 2/3 innings of work.
