June 26, 1985: Cardinals (40-29) at Phillies (27-41)

Mike Schmidt ripped 2 homeruns and had 6 RBI as the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 10 to 3 at Shibe Park. 

Schmidt punished St. Louis with his bat. He smacked a single resulting in a run in the 1st inning, doubled bringing in a run in the 5th inning, smashed a two-run homer in the 6th inning and popped a two-run clout over the fence in the 8th inning. St. Louis was out-hit by Philadelphia, 12 hits to 7. 

Shane Rawley(5-10) was the winner allowing 3 runs in 7 innings. Ricky Horton(4-1) was tagged with the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 9 hits and 2 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings. 

"Actually, I didn't feel that comfortable at the plate tonight" Schmidt said after the game. "Despite that, I'm happy with the results!"
