June 26, 1985: Orioles (35-34) at Yankees (36-33)

Right fielder Gary Roenicke cracked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Mike Flanagan went 8 strong innings as the Baltimore Orioles defeated the New York Yankees by a score of 11 to 2 at YANKEE STADIUM. 

Roenicke provided much of the offense. He stroked a base-hit in the 3rd inning, hit a bases-empty home run in the 6th inning and smashed a two-run homer in the 7th inning. New York was out-hit by Baltimore, 14 hits to 5. 

The win was credited to Flanagan(5-0) who went 8 innings allowing 1 run. Ed Whitson(6-8) took the loss. His ERA ballooned from 4.97 to 5.40 as he allowed 7 runs in 4 and 2/3 innings.
