Whitt had a big day at the plate. He delivered a one-base hit in the 5th inning and brought the hometown folks to their feet with a Grand Slam in the 8th inning. Milwaukee was out-hit by Toronto, 10 hits to 7.
The win went to Stieb(12-5) who allowed 1 run in 8 innings. Ted Higuera(4-8) was the losing pitcher. "Everything felt great" Stieb said. "I had a good fastball, I felt I could throw it by everybody today."
