June 28, 1985: Blue Jays (43-30) at Tigers (42-28)

Jesse Barfield homered and had 2 RBI at TIGER STADIUM as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Detroit Tigers in 11 innings by the count of 5 to 4. 

The score was knotted at 4 after nine innings. Toronto won it in the 11th inning. Willie Upshaw drew a walk. Lloyd Moseby stepped up to the plate and he drew a walk. Two outs later Tony Fernandez stepped in and he lashed a single scoring the run. Although they lost, Detroit did out-hit Toronto 15 to 10. 

Gary Lavelle(2-1) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the victory. Tom Henke preserved the game for Lavelle, recording his his 11th save. The loss was charged to Aurelio Lopez(0-2) in relief. He pitched 1 and 2/3 innings and surrendered 1 hit and 2 walks. 

With the win Toronto now has a record of 43-30. With the loss, Detroit has a record of 6-4 lately, 42-28 overall.
