June 29, 1985: Blue Jays (44-30) at Tigers (42-29)

One run was the difference at TIGER STADIUM as the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Detroit Tigers 5 to 4. 

Toronto won the game with a run in the 8th inning. After an out was recorded, Jesse Barfield slapped a base-hit. Ernie Whitt was next to bat, but he was a strikeout victim. Willie Upshaw then banged out a single. Lou Thornton was up next and he ripped a single scoring the run. The Detroit batters went down meekly in the bottom of the 9th. 

Jimmy Key(9-5) was the winner allowing 4 runs in 8 innings. Key was helped out by Tom Henke who recorded his 12th save. Todd Crane(7-4) suffered the loss. He allowed 10 hits and 2 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.
