July 11, 1985: Blue Jays (53-33) at Angels (38-46)

One run was the difference at ANAHEIM STADIUM as the red-hot Toronto Blue Jays defeated the California Angels 3 to 2. 

Toronto brought 2 runs across the plate in the top of the 7th inning. Cliff Johnson started the inning off right when he delivered a base-hit. Willie Upshaw was next and he was hit by a pitch. After an out was recorded, Tony Fernandez then stroked a single knocking in a run. Buck Martinez followed and he hit a deep fly scoring the final run of the inning. Tom Henke pitched a perfect ninth to earn his 18th save. 

Doyle Alexander(12-4) picked up the victory, allowing 2 runs in 8 innings. Rafael Lugo(6-4) was the losing pitcher in relief. He surrendered 2 runs and 3 hits in 3 and 1/3 innings.
