Ron Guidry allowed Billy Martin to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the New York Yankees defeated the Kansas City Royals 6 to 2 at YANKEE STADIUM. 

New York took the lead for good in the bottom of the 5th inning scoring one runner using 2 hits. New York had a total of 10 hits for the game. 

Guidry(13-4) allowed 2 runs on the game. Charlie Leibrandt(7-8) was charged with the loss. He got hit hard, allowing 8 hits and 3 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings. 

No one has been able to stop New York lately as they lengthened their winning streak to 6 games.
