July 9, 1985: Brewers (34-47) at Angels (37-45)

Right fielder George Hendrick lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 3 RBI as the California Angels won a heart-stopping victory over the Milwaukee Brewers, 10 to 9.

California scored the deciding run in the bottom of the 9th inning. Reggie Jackson laced a one-base hit. Ruppert Jones followed and he reached on an error. Bobby Grich then reached on an error making California the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration. The score went back-and-forth with the lead changing 5 times.

Rafael Lugo(7-3) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 innings and allowing no runs. Jaime Cocanower(3-6) suffered the loss in relief. It was a tough loss for him as he did not allow an earned run in his 1 inning of work.
