July 9, 1985: Dodgers (49-33) at Pirates (32-49)

At Forbes Field the Los Angeles Dodgers easily handled the Pittsburgh Pirates by the score of 8 to 4.

Los Angeles came up with the deciding runs in the 9th inning when they came up with 4 runs on 4 hits. The biggest moment was provided by Bill Madlock who deflated the crowd as he laced a single bringing in two baserunners. Overall Los Angeles out-hit Pittsburgh 12 to 7.

Jerry Reuss(9-5) went 8 innings allowing 4 runs for the win. The losing pitcher was Larry McWilliams(5-6) in relief. It was a tough loss for him as he did not allow an earned run in his 1 and 2/3 innings of work.
