July 9, 1985: Mets (56-26) at Reds (42-40)

Left fielder George Foster connected for a homer and had 3 RBI as the New York Mets bested the Cincinnati Reds 8 to 5 at Crosley Field. 

Rick Aguilera(3-7) earned the victory with a fine relief performance. He didn't allow much, just 1 hit and no walks in 2 innings. New York totaled 10 hits on the night. 

Roger McDowell gained credit for his 7th save. John Franco(1-2) suffered the loss in relief. He pitched 1 and 1/3 innings giving up 2 hits and 1 walk.
