July 9, 1985: White Sox (37-43) at Tigers (49-32)

Frank Tanana had an impressive outing as the Detroit Tigers beat the Chicago White Sox by a score of 6 to 3. 

In the bottom of the 2nd inning Detroit went on top for good scoring one runner. Detroit banged out 9 hits on the night. 

Tanana(10-2) got the win allowing 1 run in 8 innings. Willie Hernandez recorded his 19th save. Floyd Bannister(6-9) took the loss. He pitched 6 innings allowing 8 hits and 5 walks. 

With the win Detroit now has a record of 49-32. With the loss Chicago now has a record of 37-43.
