July 11, 1985: Twins (36-48) at Tigers (50-33)

Designated hitter John Grubb touched them all as the Detroit Tigers topped the Minnesota Twins by a score of 5 to 4 at TIGER STADIUM. 

The game was won by Detroit with a run in the bottom of the 8th inning. After two outs Grubb smacked a single. Barbaro Garbey came next and he banged out a single. Larry Herndon then slapped a single scoring the run. Herndon took second on the throw. Minnesota threatened in the 9th but Detroit was able to put down the rally. 

Jack Morris(11-5) went 8 innings allowing 4 runs for the win. Willie Hernandez gained credit for his 19th save. Pete Filson(2-4) was tagged with the loss in relief.
