July 12, 1985: Dodgers (51-34) at Cubs (49-35)

Orel Hershiser came through with a solid 9 innings and Ken Landreaux hit 2 doubles as the Los Angeles Dodgers bested the Chicago Cubs 8 to 1 at WRIGLEY FIELD.

Los Angeles jumped out to the early lead in the first inning scoring 3 runs. After two were out Bill Madlock started the rally when he drew a walk. Pedro Guerrero was next and he drew a walk. Mike Marshall then smacked a three-run homer. That scoring would be all that was needed. Los Angeles had a total of 10 hits for the game.

The victory was credited to Hershiser(9-7) who went the distance, allowing 1 run. Steve Trout(10-7) was hit with the loss. He was knocked around pretty good, giving up 7 runs in 6 innings.
