July 12, 1985: Rangers (42-44) at Yankees (47-37)

Ron Guidry went the distance as the New York Yankees won a heart-stopping victory over the Texas Rangers, 3 to 2. 

The game was won by New York when they scored a run in the bottom of the 9th inning. After an out was recorded, Ron Hassey doubled. Bobby Meacham followed and he stroked a base-hit resulting in a mighty exciting win for New York and the 45,855 home town fans in attendance. Both teams totaled 8 hits on the night. 

The victory was credited to Guidry(14-4) who went the distance, allowing 2 runs. Charlie Hough(8-8) was the losing pitcher.
