July 13, 1985: Phillies (36-49) at Braves (24-61)

The Philadelphia Phillies beat the Atlanta Braves by a 6 to 3 score at FULTON CTY STADIUM. 

Philadelphia jumped on top of Atlanta in the 5th inning plating 2 runs using 4 hits. Von Hayes led off the inning for Philadelphia when he doubled. Mike Schmidt was next and he slapped a single which scored a run. One out later, Ozzie Virgil was next to the plate, but was promptly struck out. Rick Schu followed next and he ripped a base-hit scoring the final run of the inning. Overall Philadelphia out-hit Atlanta 19 to 8. 

The win was credited to Steve Carlton(10-4) who went 8 innings allowing 3 runs. Carlton was helped out by Kent Tekulve who recorded his 15th save. Rick Camp(3-6) was the loser. He gave up 4 runs and 12 hits in 5 innings.
