July 20, 1985: Cardinals (53-36) at Dodgers (56-35)

Mike Marshall cracked a homer and had 3 RBI as the Los Angeles Dodgers ballclub embarrassed the St. Louis Cardinals by the count of 16 to 2. 

Marshall enjoyed a fine evening at the plate. He laced a one-base hit which scored a run in the 3rd inning, delivered a solo blast in the 5th inning and laced a base-knock which brought home a run in the 6th inning. Los Angeles bats were very productive in the 3rd inning with 4 runs on 5 hits and the 6th inning when they had 7 runs on 5 hits. Los Angeles had many opportunities throughout the game and scored in 6 separate innings. 

The winning pitcher was Orel Hershiser(10-7) who allowed 2 runs in 8 innings. Kurt Kepshire(4-8) was the losing pitcher. He got hit hard, allowing 8 hits and 2 walks in 4 and 1/3 innings.
