July 21, 1985: Angels (42-49) at Red Sox (57-35)

Catcher Rich Gedman went yard and Oil Can Boyd went the distance as the Boston Red Sox pulled out a win over the California Angels by a score of 2 to 1 at FENWAY PARK. 

The game was won by Boston when they scored a run in the 9th inning. Bill Buckner drew a walk. Tony Armas was next and he doubled. Mike Easler then ripped a base-hit making Boston the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration. Both teams finished the game with 8 hits. 

Boyd(9-5) lasted until the end allowing 1 run for the win. The loss was charged to Rafael Lugo(7-5). He allowed 2 runs and 8 hits in 8 innings.
