July 21, 1985: Cubs (52-39) at Giants (38-54)

Gary Matthews smashed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Scott Sanderson was able to finish what he started and was credited with a complete game as the Chicago Cubs bested the San Francisco Giants 6 to 1 at CANDLESTICK PARK. 

Matthews led the offense for Chicago. He blasted a solo shot in the 3rd inning and clubbed a two-run home run in the 9th inning. Chicago banged out 11 hits on the afternoon. 

The win was credited to Sanderson(9-5) who went the whole way allowing 1 run. Jim Gott(7-6) took the loss. He allowed 3 homeruns in 7 innings of work.
