July 23, 1985: Mariners (47-47) at Blue Jays (60-35)

In a game at EXHIBITION STADIUM the Toronto Blue Jays got by the Seattle Mariners by the score of 8 to 5. 

Lou Thornton helped send the fans home happy. He laced a one-base hit in the 1st inning, launched a Grand Slam homerun in the 5th inning and ripped a base-hit in the 7th inning. Toronto banged out 10 hits on the night.

The win was credited to Doyle Alexander(13-4) who went 8 innings allowing 5 runs. Tom Henke got the save, his 21st. Frank Wills(2-8) took the loss. He served up 3 gopher balls in 7 innings.
