Designated hitter Ron Kittle left the yard and had 2 RBI as the Chicago White Sox beat the Detroit Tigers by a score of 6 to 4. 

Floyd Bannister(10-8) gave Chicago a solid outing. He went 7 and 2/3 innings allowing 11 hits and 2 walks. Chicago had a total of 11 hits for the game. 

Bannister got help from Dan Spillner who earned his 1st save. Jack Morris(11-6) took the loss. He allowed 9 hits and 4 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings. 

'I just wanted to give my team a chance to win.' said Bannister, 'I got burned on a couple of pitches. But we won the game, and that's all that matters.'
