July 26, 1985: Astros (46-51) at Mets (65-31)

Shortstop Dickie Thon jacked one out of the ballpark and Bob Knepper carried a no-hitter into the 7th inning at SHEA STADIUM where the Houston Astros beat the New York Mets by the score of 3 to 0.

Knepper(13-8) pitched one of his finer games as he simply was too much for the New York batters. He allowed only 3 hits and no walks in 9 innings. The left-handed Knepper lost his no-hit bid when Keith Hernandez singled with two outs in the 7th inning. Neither team managed to score after the 4th inning.

Sid Fernandez(15-5) was charged with the loss. He allowed 6 hits and 6 walks in 9 innings.
