Tony Armas hit a homerun and had 3 RBI as the Boston Red Sox defeated the Seattle Mariners by a score of 11 to 4 at FENWAY PARK. 

Boston started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of the first when they came up with 5 runs on 7 hits. That early run support was all that Oil Can Boyd(10-5) required. Boston out-hit Seattle for the game, 17 hits to 9. 

Jim Beattie(4-9) was charged with the loss. He pitched 6 innings and surrendered 14 hits and 1 walk.
