July 27, 1985: Indians (36-63) at Royals (55-42)

George Brett hit a homerun and had 4 RBI as the Kansas City Royals defeated the Cleveland Indians by a score of 11 to 5 at ROYALS STADIUM. 

Brett enjoyed a fine evening at the plate. He laced a base-knock scoring a run in the 2nd inning, hit a single which plated a run in the 4th inning and lifted one out of the park for a two run home run in the 8th inning. Kansas City out-hit Cleveland for the game, 15 hits to 9. 

Charlie Leibrandt(9-8) went 7 and 1/3 innings allowing 4 runs for the win. The losing pitcher was Vern Ruhle(4-9). He was not very effective, surrendering 7 runs in 4 innings.
