July 28, 1985: Indians (36-64) at Royals (56-42)

Bret Saberhagen allowed Dick Howser to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game and right fielder Darryl Motley went deep as the Kansas City Royals defeated the woeful Cleveland Indians by the score of 6 to 2 at ROYALS STADIUM. 

Kansas City went ahead for good in the 2nd inning plating one baserunner using 2 hits. That was all the runs Saberhagen(12-6) needed. Kansas City rapped out 9 hits for the afternoon. 

Curt Wardle(2-9) was the loser. He got hammered, allowing 8 hits and 3 walks in 5 innings.
