July 28, 1985: Yankees (55-41) at Rangers (48-50)

In a close game the New York Yankees got by the Texas Rangers by the score of 7 to 5. 

New York scored the deciding run in the top of the 8th inning. Dave Winfield doubled. Don Baylor came next and he drew a walk. Willie Randolph then laced a base-hit scoring the run. New York simply wore out the Texas pitching staff, scoring in 6 different innings. 

The win went to Rich Bordi(6-0) who allowed no runs in 2 innings. Bordi got help from Dave Righetti who earned his 21st save. Dave Schmidt(5-3) was hit with the loss in relief.
