July 29, 1985: Yankees (55-42) at Indians (37-64)

Baseballs were flying all over the ballpark as the Cleveland Indians ran roughshod over the seemingly hapless New York Yankees. The Cleveland offense rolled up a total of 14 runs!.

The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance provided by Brett Butler. He stroked a one-base hit in the 3rd inning, clubbed a three-run home run in the 4th inning and lined a single which scored a run in the 5th inning. Overall Cleveland out-hit New York 17 to 9.

Tom Waddell(3-5) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 5 and 2/3 innings. Jerry Reed was credited with his 1st save. Ed Whitson(6-11) suffered the loss. He was not very effective, surrendering 7 runs in 3 and 1/3 innings.
