July 30, 1985: Expos (46-55) at Mets (68-32)

George Foster ripped 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the New York Mets beat the Montreal Expos by a score of 5 to 3. 

The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance provided by Foster. He clubbed a solo home run in the 7th inning and bombed a two-run dinger in the 8th inning. New York banged out 7 hits on the night. 

The win was credited to Ed Lynch(15-3) who went 8 and 1/3 innings allowing 3 runs. Roger McDowell got the save, his 14th. Bryn Smith(7-11) ended up with the loss. He pitched 6 and 2/3 innings allowing 6 hits and 1 walk.
