Right fielder Mike Davis went deep and had 3 RBI as the Oakland Athletics beat the California Angels by a score of 7 to 3. 

In the 7th inning Oakland scored 6 runs when they had 6 base hits. The big moment was provided by Davis who electrified OAKLAND COLISEUM when he belted a three-run homer. For the game Oakland out-hit California 11 to 8. 

Don Sutton(5-14) got the win allowing 3 runs in 8 and 1/3 innings. The loss was charged to Mike Witt(6-10). He gave up 7 hits and 1 walk in 6 innings.
