August 3, 1985: Orioles (52-51) at Indians (38-69)

Floyd Rayford cleared the bases with his grand slam as the Baltimore Orioles defeated the dreadful Cleveland Indians 12 to 11 at MUNICIPAL STADIUM.

Nate Snell(3-6) pitched good enough to get the victory in relief. He allowed 4 hits and 2 walks in 2 and 2/3 innings. Cleveland had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.

Don Aase gained credit for his 14th save. Curt Wardle(2-10) took the loss in relief. Baltimore scored big getting 6 runs off him in 2 innings.

With the win Baltimore now has a record of 52-51. Pat Corrales was pretty down after the loss. 'We've really been sputtering along lately, something like 2-8 in the last week or two. That won't get it done.'
