Al Cowens slammed a homerun and had 3 RBI at The Kingdome where the Seattle Mariners beat the Minnesota Twins by the score of 10 to 5. 

Mark Langston(9-8) gave a fine effort for Seattle. He went 8 innings surrendering 5 hits and 5 walks. Seattle had a total of 7 hits for the game. 

Mike Smithson(8-11) was the loser. He was knocked around by Seattle, allowing 6 hits and 5 walks in 3 and 1/3 innings. The win by Seattle was very good news as they had been 2-8 of late. Now their seasonal record improves to 49-52. With this loss, Minnesota has a 5-5 record of late, 41-59 overall.
