July 31, 1985: Padres (56-46) at Braves (29-70)

Claudell Washington homered as the Atlanta Braves bested the San Diego Padres 6 to 4 at FULTON CTY STADIUM. 

Atlanta had the winning rally in the bottom of the 8th inning with 2 runs using 2 hits. After an out was recorded, Bob Horner started the rally when he tripled. Terry Harper came next and he smashed a two-run homer. Both teams ended up with 11 hits on the night. 

The winning pitcher was Rick Camp(4-7) who allowed no runs in 1 inning. Bruce Sutter preserved the game for Camp, recording his his 11th save. Goose Gossage(4-5) was hit with the loss in relief. He allowed 2 runs and 2 hits in 1 inning. 

Atlanta now has a record of 29-70. San Diego has a record of 56-46 after the loss.
