August 4, 1985: Giants (46-59) at Braves (30-73)

Mike Krukow struck out 10 batters at FULTON CTY STADIUM as the San Francisco Giants beat the Atlanta Braves by the count of 2 to 1. 

The game was won by San Francisco with a run in the top of the 9th inning. Jeff Leonard lined a single. Dan Driessen stepped up next and he banged out a single. After an out was recorded, Brad Wellman then ripped a single scoring the run. San Francisco had just 6 hits for the afternoon. 

Krukow(5-14) was the winner allowing 1 run in 8 innings. Krukow got relief help from Mark Davis who gained credit for his 14th save. The losing pitcher was Gene Garber(0-2) in relief. 

'He was really impressive today,' Garber said of his counterpart. 'Our guys were just swinging at air.'
