The St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Philadelphia Phillies by a score of 6 to 2 at BUSCH STADIUM. 

St. Louis jumped on top to stay in the 2nd inning plating an isolated run. St. Louis and Philadelphia each finished the afternoon with 8 hits. 

John Tudor(14-5) allowed 2 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the victory. Tudor got help from Bill Campbell who was credited with his 2nd save. Shane Rawley(8-13) was hit with the loss.
