August 7, 1985: Brewers (44-62) at Rangers (50-56)

Second baseman Jim Gantner had 2 base hits and 2 RBI and Ray Burris had a strong outing at ARLINGTON STADIUM where the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Texas Rangers by the score of 4 to 1.

Burris(9-12) had a strong outing. He was stingy on the mound, allowing just 5 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings reducing his ERA from 4.80 to 4.59. The Texas batters didn't put up a fight in the bottom of the 9th.

Charlie Hough(10-10) was the losing pitcher. 'I thought it was my best performance in a long time,' said Burris. 'I had good command early in the game. I had my control and composure and everything went well.'
