August 8, 1985: Mets (73-35) at Expos (51-58)

Jesse Orosco had an impressive outing and Clint Hurdle left the yard and had 4 RBI as the New York Mets beat the Montreal Expos in 13 innings by a score of 9 to 8. 

Both teams were tied at 8 runs apiece after nine innings. New York won it in the 13th inning. After two outs Gary Carter providing the offense himself as he belted a solo home run. New York had a total of 15 hits for the game. 

The victory was credited to Orosco(5-2) who went 6 innings, allowing no runs. The losing pitcher was Jeff Reardon(5-2) in relief. 

With the win New York now has a record of a division leading 73-35. With the loss Montreal now has a record of 51-58.
