Eddie Murray had 3 base hits and 2 RBI at ARLINGTON STADIUM as the Baltimore Orioles beat the struggling Texas Rangers by the count of 9 to 4. 

The game was won by Baltimore with a run in the top of the 8th inning. After an out was recorded, Murray lined a single. Fred Lynn stepped up next and he laced a base-hit. Jim Dwyer then stroked a one-base hit scoring the run. For the game Baltimore out-hit Texas 15 to 9. 

The win went to Tippy Martinez(3-4) who allowed no runs in 2 innings. Don Aase was credited with his 16th save. Dave Stewart(4-6) was the losing pitcher in relief. He pitched 2 and 1/3 innings and surrendered 3 hits and no walks.
