Higuera(8-12) dominated Chicago hitters. He surrendered only 4 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings. Milwaukee finished with 8 hits in the victory. 

Gene Nelson(10-13) absorbed the loss. He allowed 3 runs and 7 hits in 7 innings. 'Higuera pitched a gem of a game', Tony LaRussa recounted. 'He kept our batters off balance the entire game.'
