August 10, 1985: Cardinals (65-45) at Phillies (48-62)

The Philadelphia Phillies nipped the St. Louis Cardinals in 12 innings 4 to 3 at Shibe Park in a hard fought contest. 

The game was deadlocked at 2 after nine full innings. Philadelphia won the hard fought contest in the 12th inning. Rick Schu doubled. After an out was recorded, Dave Rucker came up and he delivered a one-base hit making Philadelphia the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration. Philadelphia and St. Louis each finished the night with 9 hits. 

The win went to Rucker(2-3) who allowed 1 run in 2 innings. Ken Dayley(8-1) was hit with the loss in relief. He surrendered 4 hits and no walks in 1 and 1/3 innings.
