Guerrero enjoyed a great evening at the plate. Every time he came up in the latter innings, the crowd was on their feet cheering. He launched a three-run homer in the 1st inning and clubbed a three-run home run in the 2nd inning.
Neither team managed to score after the 2nd inning. For Hershiser(13-8) it was his 4th shutout this year. Jay Tibbs(8-13) was the loser. He allowed 7 runs and 9 hits in 1 and 1/3 innings.
