August 11, 1985: Pirates (46-64) at Expos (51-61)

Shortstop Bill Almon slammed a homerun and had 3 RBI and Rick Reuschel was on top of his game, blanking Montreal on just 3 hits as the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the slumping Montreal Expos by a score of 8 to 0.

Almon was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided much of the offense for the visitors. He doubled in the 2nd inning, banged out a single in the 8th inning and launched a three-run homer in the 9th inning. Pittsburgh totaled 14 hits on the afternoon.

For Reuschel(14-6) it was his 2nd shutout this year. Bill Gullickson(9-12) suffered the loss. He pitched 7 innings and surrendered 9 hits and 1 walk.
