August 11, 1985: Yankees (65-46) at Red Sox (69-42)

Ron Guidry completed the game without help from the bullpen as the New York Yankees outscored the Boston Red Sox 11 to 2. 

Boston never recovered after New York took the lead in the top of the 3rd inning when they tallied 2 runs on 3 hits. New York had 15 hits for the afternoon. 

Guidry(19-6) was the winner allowing 2 runs for the game. Al Nipper(6-10) was charged with the loss. He was touched for 9 hits and 3 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings. 

With the win New York now has a record of 65-46. With the loss Boston now has a record of 69-42.
