Fernando Valenzuela completed the game without help from the bullpen and Pedro Guerrero had 2 base hits at DODGER STADIUM as the Cincinnati Reds lost a heartbreaker to Los Angeles Dodgers by the score of 2 to 1. 

The deciding run was scored by Los Angeles in the bottom of the 9th. Ken Landreaux smashed a solo-shot out of the park giving Los Angeles the win and sending the home town fans into a frenzy. Los Angeles managed 9 hits in their victory. 

The winning pitcher was Valenzuela(12-8) who allowed 1 run for the game. Tom Browning(10-10) was the losing pitcher. He gave up 2 runs and 9 hits in 8 innings.
