August 12, 1985: Phillies (48-64) at Mets (77-35)

In an exciting finish the red-hot New York Mets pulled out a win over the Philadelphia Phillies by a score of 3 to 2 at SHEA STADIUM. 

New York scored the deciding run in the 9th inning. Gary Carter drew a walk. Darryl Strawberry came next and he tripled resulting in a mighty exciting win for New York and the 49,494 home town fans in attendance. New York finished with just 5 hits in the victory. 

Jesse Orosco(7-2) allowed no runs in 1 inning, and picked up the victory. Dave Rucker(2-4) was charged with the loss in relief. He surrendered 1 hit and 1 walk without retiring a batter. 

It was another victory for New York at SHEA STADIUM. Now their winning streak stands at 9 games. Davey Johnson was clearly happy after the game -- 'Everything is clicking for us right now.'
