Mike Mason carried a no-hitter into the 6th inning as the Texas Rangers beat the Toronto Blue Jays by a score of 2 to 0. 

Mason(12-9) delivered a fine performance for Texas. He surrendered 1 hit and 3 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings. The left-handed Mason lost his no-hit bid when Damaso Garcia singled with nobody out in the 6th inning. For the game Texas out-hit Toronto 11 to 4. 

Mason got relief help from Greg Harris who gained credit for his 24th save. Doyle Alexander(15-6) was the loser. He surrendered 11 hits and no walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.
