California fell behind quickly as the Seattle offense came through in the first inning when they tallied 2 runs on 2 hits. That early run support was all that Moore(17-7) required. Seattle banged out 14 hits on the afternoon.
Mike Witt(8-11) was given the loss. When questioned about his counterpart after the game, Witt was lavish in his praise, 'It was obvious very early on that we were going to be in for a long night. Moore brought his 'A' game with him - he had good stuff and was able to spot it perfectly. He probably only made one or two bad pitches the entire game!
