August 16, 1985: Braves (37-78) at Padres (63-55)

Bob Horner left the yard and had 3 RBI at JACK MURPHY STADIUM where the Atlanta Braves beat the San Diego Padres 8 to 6. 

Atlanta scored 4 runs in the top of the 3rd inning when they had 3 base hits. They would hold up as the winning runs. San Diego threatened in the 9th but Atlanta was able to put down the rally. 

Steve Shields(2-3) got the win allowing 5 runs in 5 and 1/3 innings. Bruce Sutter earned the save, his 14th. Dave Dravecky(12-9) took the loss. He was touched for 8 hits and 3 walks in 5 innings. 

Atlanta now has a record of 37-78. With the loss, the San Diego ballclub's record is 63-55.
