August 16, 1985: Mets (79-37) at Pirates (50-65)

Rick Reuschel held New York to 3 hits as the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the New York Mets by a score of 2 to 1.

Pittsburgh brought 2 runs across the plate in the 4th inning with the help of 3 hits. The biggest moment was provided by Mike Brown who brought a roar from the partisan Forbes Field fans when he doubled bringing in two baserunners. Pittsburgh had only 6 hits for the night.

Reuschel(15-6), allowing 1 run for the game, picked up the victory. The losing pitcher was Ed Lynch(16-4). He pitched 8 innings and surrendered just 6 hits and no walks.

'He had his 'A' game tonight,' Chuck Tanner said of Reuschel. 'Very impressive performance.'
